Shimon Peres has to be great improvement over that last two Israeli presidents, most particular the last one - Moshe Katsav.

Peres has a lot to do to improve both the image of the position he now holds as well as Israel's image as a whole.

Hopefully, he will be able to do something to improve both.

The only good thing about Peres becoming President is that he will only have perfunctionary responsibilities rather than real political power. May he RIP!
