Let us also hope that the U.S. government (my government) doesn't pressure Israel to give up the Golan as part of some half-baked, sure-to-fail peace plan like Oslo or The Road Map.
I can just see Condi telling Israel (behind closed doors, of course) that "we have a plan for the democratization of the Middle East, which takes into account Israel's security. But we need the peace process to continue and that necessitates Israel bringing something substantial to the table. If you could surrender the Golan to Syria, I'm certain we could obtain guarantees that no military operations against Israel, by anyone, would take place there."
Then comes the arm-twisting and the veiled threats of cutting off aid. And by the time the Golan is being used for rocket launchings or aid to terrorist operations there will be another President and another equally stupid plan. No one will even remember the promises made to Israel by the last bunch.
What happend to all those neat blog articles I used to see on this site?

I'm amazed that there are people in Israel prepared to repeat the disaster of returning Gaza to terrorists by "returning" the Golan Heights to Syria also a terrorist regime.
I'm an Israel supporter in the U.S., Israel must resist all international pressure and do what is best for Israel. The only peace for Israel will come from standing strong and firm, not by giving in to terrorists in the false name of peace. The lessons of the past are clear, Israel gives in the name of peace and the terrorists ask for more! When will this end, when there is no more Israel?!
