Gravatar Um.. its the first black president. Thats HISTORICAL. its not black racism. Its a celebration and recognition of something that has never happened before. You are comparing apples and oranges Gerald Erikson. PAS!(Plain and Simple)
Go Obama!! whoo hoo!

Gravatar Man...STOP. this is a wonderful day for me (and America), and I'm not about to tie it up in a debate. I have things to do.
U said: Uniqueness is irrelevant. Hardly. Thus the pointing it out in the black community. U don't have to like what I said ON MY BLOG. Had McCain won..the commenting about HIS SKIN COLOR by whites, blacks whomever would be moot, or irrelevant-as it would have been no different than the 43 presidents who preceded him.
The fact that black advertisements shout "We have a black president" is the issue. No that is UR issue. And I wish my grandparents were alive to witness this great day in history-America's & Black History!! I'd understand or be empathetic if the comments made in my community were ignorant in that we'd said Obama was specifically in place to serve us...NOT. No one has said that The fact that John F. Kennedy foretold that we'd have a black president in 40 yrs-has actually come to fruition-is relevant.
If whites did this, in my opinion Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and such people would holler "Racism!!!! Jesse & Al need to ride off into the sunset-and fade to black as far as I'm concerned.
I am pointing out another inicindent of black racism!!!!Gerald...do u realllly want me to point out incidents of white racism??
Come on,man.
As to the question of "Getting over that Obama is in"? This also is irrelivant to my statement. In this instance ur right. That statement I will apologize for, as I mistook ur post as an angry white man who was mad, Obama had won. I do apologize Gerald Erikson. Also, I give you mad credit for using your real name, instead of commenting 'anonymous.' The point is this: Ur goin to hear black people honor Obama in conversation, in blogs etc as 'us having a black president' U can construe it as racism, but I'm construing it as I'M HAPPY AS HELL...and I'd NEVER thought I'd live to see the day a black man was president..

Also, I've highlighted a young WHITE MAN who did something amazing...and his color was relevant to the story Josh Packwood hopefully, you'll understand the point I was making.
Thanks for commenting Gerald, and I apologize for coming off as testy-when white people take issue with me...it's usually ignorant, so thank you for an organized and spirited disagreement

Gravatar What would be unique about saying "Weve got a white president"? Nothing. Never said it was or was not unique. Uniqueness is irrelevant. Does the fact that white people voted for Obama level the playing field? This is again irrelevant. The fact that black advertisements shout "We have a black president" is the issue. If whites did this, in my opinion Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and such people would holler "Racism!!!! until they were horse from shouting. I am pointing out another inicindent of black racism!!!! As to the question of "Getting over that Obama is in"? This also is irrelivant to my statement. I think he will do just fine. I espically like his ideas on alternative energy.

Gravatar Gerald Erikson...what wud be so unique about saying We've Got A White President...WHEN THEY'VE ALL BEEN WHITE??? There'd be nothing new or unique about that statement.
The black community would say:
NO SH*T SHERLOCK?!

The best man won..and he was put in by WHITE PEOPLE...now..does that make u feel better?? does that level the playing field for you??

Get over it, Obama's in.

Gravatar I wonder what the black community would be saying if in the past and probably in the future there would be widespread statements such as the graphics heading above. "We got a white president" instead of "We got a black president" This graphics and similar statements drip of blatant black racism.
