I'm still intrigued by the theater of MLB trying to hold this thing up.

Me too. I'd love to see Selig say no to a Cuban deal that was $50 million more than a Canning deal. Would Zell sue?

Would Zell sue? How about shareholders? How about other counterparties? How about the SEC?

The shareholders, who are the employees, could possibly sue Zell if he gave in on a sweetheart deal. They need the debt paid down, too. A default and a bankruptcy would destroy the value in the ESOP.

Cuban would totally sell the Mavs to get the Cubs. Or at least more accurately he would sell the Mavs if he was able to successfully buy the Cubs.

With the Donaghy bombshell being dropped this week. The value of NBA franchises ain't what they were 2 Months ago. Cuban better sell high why he still has the chance. Cuban basically needs to be the Anti-Hendry.
