JACK ARMY, scanning my sector!

Gravatar "There is an Iraqi Army major that I particularly like. He is very dedicated to a free Iraq. He does not believe there should be divisions in the government based on ethnicity nor religion. He believes those things should be reserved for one's personal life, not public service. Those that serve the Iraqi nation, whether as Soldiers, policemen, or politicians, should focus on what is best for the country not individual interests or groups. This major can get very emotional when talking about it, too. You can see the anguish and hope and frustration and ambition he has for his country in his eyes and in the way he expresses himself. He is truly inspirational."

This is the kinda man who would make a good American. And I mean that as no disrespect to his own nationality.

The Major would also make a good politician, as your boss said, unfortunately men who would make good politicians should probably stay clear of politics as they have far more important things to do in life, like saving lives and changing the world.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

I hope everything is going okay for you Jack. I met quite a few characters like this Major you speak of while I was in Iraq. You are 100% correct in your assertation of the Iraqi people. For the most part, they are highly dedicated, intelligent individuals.

Keep on fighting and I'll pray for you guys. Have fun! Hooah.

Gravatar "We are not ready to fly, yet."

This is something every 'bring them home now' needs to understand.

And as for the questions you asked in your first paragraph, I ask those same questions and more, frequently. If the answers I'm finding are even half way correct, they are not so encouraging.

On the other hand, if Bush had not played his religion and sucked up to many extremist Christian organizations in the US, he would'nt have won the election in 2004.

So which do you want? Religion out of politics or religion to help you get the politics you prefer?
