JACK ARMY, scanning my sector!

As an add-on comment to that, I'd like to say that being a medic is one of the most rewarding experiences you will ever have. You will carry more than any other soldier in your platoon (Ok, you might carry as much as the SAW gunner), but know that with this added hardship you are the Golden Child. There is nothing your soldiers will not do for you, because you are the giver of Motrin, it is you who knows the ways to eliminate their pain and mend their broken bodies. So while the days may be long and the mission difficult, it's never really that hard because your spirit is constantly buoyed by the appreciation of those around you.

Gravatar Best comment I have seen regarding Medics was John from Castle Arrgghh when discussing the recent silver star awarded to a female medic. If her troops called "Doc" that means she earned the title and was highly repected by her troops.

Thanks, Dave

Gravatar I will comment though that the military of today is definitely not the military of five years ago. The war has definitely affected military programs and leadership. I thoroughly encourage new people to step up and serve their/our country, but I want enlistees to know what they're getting themselves into.

Gravatar Good answer to the kid's question. I am kinda envious of him. If I had it to do over again, I might have joined the army. I spent 6 years in the Navy and never really got what I wanted. Wasn't exactly the Navy's fault, but still...
