JACK ARMY, scanning my sector!

Gravatar I know there are a lot of rock solid Americans there. I lived there for 12 yrs and still have friends there BUT, I sometimes think we should just give it back to Mexico along with Pelosi, Boxer, Brown and the asshats in Berzerkley

Gravatar I don't know that the problem here is tolerance, as much as ignorance?

It doesn't appear that the folks who oppose this have educated themselves on the subject of combat PTSD. Had they done so, or if they would, they might have a more reasonable attitude, and be able to make a more informed, perhaps even a positive, decision on this home.

I think this home is an excellent idea, and very much needed across the country. I'd love to see several here in my city. And yes, even if that means one is right next door.

Gravatar This is just a more extreem form of NIMBY-ism. Most likely these folks would oppose any group home, weather it was for PTSD vets or WW2 vets needing assisted care or anyone else.

This does NOT excuse the problem, but the neighbors are likely to not want anyone to move in, and not have a special concern for veterans.

On the other hand, they could be anti-military jerks and next time there is a fire or other natural disaster in CA (remember the four seasons on CA, fire, flood, winter and earthquakes), the National Guard can be delayed in getting help to them as "thanks" for their help in the Veterans times of needs.
