For something irrelevant (via the dreaded fourth estate & the ABC ). Travel and all important ale also figure in the adventures of two rollicking senior yachtsmen at Berrimilla.com. with round the Horn, Cornwall, Fastnet, Sydney to Hobart and all the rest of it.

Bank BRI is just as bad as Adam Air when it comes to English. But Bank BRI does not seem to care. Have you ever seen the Indonesian school text books which attempt to teach English?
They is fool of mistakes.

With the number of airlines operating obsolete aircraft in Indonesia, more Medan-type crashes are inevitable.
Unfortunately, with overseas ownerships of internal airlines not allowed in Indo, successful overseas operators will not be allowed to apply their successful low-cost models to Indonesia. Except for Air Asia, operating under the banner of AWAIR in Indo (the only internal airline I believe with an online booking engine – such a simple way of keeping costs down). Air Asia have so successfully operated throughout Asia using European airlines low cost approach with such success that even Old Trafford is now adorned with 100% Air Asia advertising at games (with the electronic pitch banners – think about it – the first time a company has advertised to such an extent at Man U that has nothing to sell to the UK market). AWAIR also feels safe to actually fly aboard, which is more than can be said for most airlines in Indonesia. And they have loads free flights booking now – time to book yourself a holiday?

Air Asia will be bankrupt within a year. They are spending shit loads of money on advertising, and hoping for a huge pick up in demand that probably won't happen.

But, if they couldn't give a sh*t about a simple thing like that, then what are the odds that they cut corners on aircraft maintenance?

But Air Asia IS profitable. http://www.airasia.com/investor/...r/
reports.shtm#
- even if I recently flew Jakarta - Padang cheaper than I could travel by a/c coach. There is a successful business model that they are copying. Ryanair has a huge marketing spend in the UK, is the most profitable airline, and I've never paid more than £5 return (+tax!) for any flight.

Air Asia is absolutely a success formula.
I can fly for RM 450- kl-solo vv
as opposed to Garuda for RM 1100-
for KL-Yogya.
The difference? a meal on board at a charge of RM 600+.
I flew AA several times and they are reliable p-p airline.
And will definitely survive 1 year IndCoup!

"But, if they couldn't give a sh*t about a simple thing like that, then what are the odds that they cut corners on aircraft maintenance?"
They made an effort to communicate in English, but are probably saving the few extra pennies (I'll take pains to be politically correct, "extra Rp") it takes to go that extra length for perfect English so they can finance more important aspects of their business i.e. aircraft maintenance.
English is an evolving language and it'll soon integrate itself to local dialect. English spoken in the UK is quite proper and Brit and English spoken in the US is quite street and American. Whilst English spoken in Indonesia is quite, well, asian (it means well, but it's not perfect). I find it all part of the local charm.

In terms of services, Adam Air is the worst
Yesterday we supposed to fly using Adam Air from Jakarta to Medan, our family first experience using this fleet, however our experience was so bad, perhaps the worst experience in my life.
We arrived 30 minutes before the boarding time. However, at the check in counter we reallize that Adam Air was so stick and rude, they close the counter and already sell our seat.
We then asked for refund, but again, they said that there is no refund services in the airport.
Then we try to ask them to change to other flight, they say they can not guarantee as all of the flight fully booked. They also mentioned that the penalty cost was so high that almost the same with the price of the ticket itself. Amazing
Then as they say we cancel our flight to Medan, you know what happened next, Adam Air will returned the money three months later and only half of the price of the ticket. What a terrible experience using this Adam Air fleet, a terrible experience.
We arrive 30 minutes before the door of the aircraft close. And the cost are all of the bad luck above.
For sure, I will never recommend your fleet, Adam Air, to anybody. What a bad experience. The worst in 20 years time I use aircraft as my main transportation for overseas travel.

I flew AirAsia recently for KL-Padang return flight. Alhamdulillah, I would say for RM100 return flight (RM300 including all charges), I am satisfied, particularly having a spanking brand new Airbus A320 from Padang. Low cost does not necesserily means high risk. Anyway a prayer is always important for any flight, with whatever airlines.

I can't really grumble about Air Asia either now I know what to expect. This is minimal 'service' but then their fares are certainly cheap.
Adam Air is, however, another matter.

As statistical fact, we aware that the accident from Boeing plane manufacturer is much more than Airbush type. As long as you use Boeing, you should be very careful.

The quote of Adam Suherman from the Jakarta Post shows how completely immature this company is. Here you have a rich kid that has been given the opportunity youy live his dream through an airline named after him. The rest is a big empty, incompetent management, old planes, staff treated like slaves and now they are also killers. I would say ground Adam and his gang and let professionals fly ...
