"What is the true cost of low cost?" is the wrong question.
In the USA, Southwest Air is generally the lowest cost airline and has a pristine saftey record. Low cost does not necessarily mean irresponsible, though this may be different in Indonesia, particularly in Indonesian business.

I've got a couple of crazy conspiracy theories in full swing going on this Adam Air debacle, but my real question here is what exchange rate are you using for the cost of that full page ad with all the English errors? It should be like US$11,300. So it's actually about a grand per error.

The cost was the quote I got direct from Jakarta Post ad. dept, although (naturally) I bow to your inside info.

And you do know how much I hate the notion of any single race being singled out but ......

Nothing to do with inside info, I was just using your figure of Rp102 million.
And I agree the numbers are not particularly relevant, it's the concern (or lack thereof) on the part of AdamAir for getting things right.
