Gravatar Ya, I am with the cicak too.

Time for some vigorous street politics...

bring it on.

Gravatar Must have been difficult for the folk in front of your TV to understand the nuances of the Javanese dialoge on the tapes??

Gravatar I love to read interesting post that has knowledge to impart! Thank you for sharing your insights! I will avidly wait for your next blog entry.

I'm not overfond of subversive/spam ads, but thanks for your email address.

BTW. Who needs hydroponics in a tropical climate with some of the most fertile soil in the world?

Gravatar Anong.
'Er Indoors has a good grasp of many local languages, including Javanese.

Gravatar I think it's amazing how many people here can fathom this difficult language. I noted at one point the judge was not sympathetic towards an official who asked for an interpreter.

Gravatar So, are you showing JA around town? Still curious.

Gravatar Ah, I'm in the throes of checking up on that one, Erik.

Gravatar I'm with cicak too...and I've KPK recording as your HP ringtone...

Gravatar I think the elephant in the corner in all of this is SBY.

I read a superb piece in the Post on Monday which seems to indicate that like Henry II and Thomas Beckett, a few well chosen words in the right ear may have set off the anti-KPK purge.

We all recall the dignified way in which SBY dealt with the conviction of his son's father-in-law for corruption but it would appear that was for public consumption only. SBY is a notoriously prickly man who is quick to take umbrage at anything seen as a slight to his personal dignity. There can now be no doubt that he was deeply offended by KPK's interference in his extended family (and it has to be asked what clown thought that of all the corrupt officials in Indonesia worthy of nicking they should start with someone so close to their boss?).

It would appear for some time now that SBY would not be sorry to see the back of the KPK and some policemen were only to happy to oblige.
