Thanks guys, but both your comments are a little premature.
Unfortunately.
There's probably months of prevarication ahead. When I'm feeling particularly aggrieved, this is welcome as there is much of a particularly criminal nature yet to be divulged. This can only be done in court ~ the next step.
Whatever, we cannot lose.

A new bridge to connect Java and Sumatra? It has been mooted. Would'nt it have a big impact on Sumatra? It would be 'taken over'.

A new bridge would need a new road to replace the constantly collapsing Trans-Sumatra Highway.
What is interesting is who's behind the proposal to build the bridge. According to Indcoup, the construction company in charge of the project is led by the not-so-lovable rogue Tommy Winata, and, according to him, the following entities will be given contacts:
- The Bakrie Group, owned by the family of the Coordinating Minister for My Own Welfare Aburizal Bakrie;
- Bukaka, owned by Vice President Jusuf Kalla; and
- Bosawa, owned by Kalla's brother-in-law, Aksa Mahmud.
Ten years after Suharto's abdication, his cronies continue to grab what they can.

Leave the highway like it is. Who needs an influx of neighbours?
