AN AUSTRALIAN contractor shot dead in Indonesia yesterday was a hard worker who was only trying to set up his young family, his father said yesterday.

Drew Nicholas Grant, 29, was a project manager at US group Freeport McMoRan's Grasberg copper and gold mining concession in Indonesia's Papua region.............

Two American teachers and an Indonesian colleague who worked at the mine were shot dead by Papuan separatist rebels in an ambush near the facility in 2002.

Re your first comment, of course I'm Jakarta-centric, but not always. Rujak though is specifically for "a sustainable Jakarta", which is generally my main focus too.

But where we lead, hopefully others will follow.
