i mean, if you can fix diknas, you can do anything man! we have our own bule superhero!
jakartassman

Gravatar I'm not sure why postmaster's anger is directed towards Jakartass in this instance, what has he done wrong?

Is it postmaster's contention that expats may never, under any circumstances, criticise any aspect of Indonesian society or politics? Even if this were the case surely Jakartass still would be entitled to have his say given that he is the father of an Indonesian child whose welfare has been put at risk by the stupidity of fellow Indonesians.

Or must all non-Indonesians take a trappist vow of silence even when it comes to the treatment of their Indonesian family members?

An especially asinine position if that is what Postmaster is proposing.

Gravatar Not to worry, Miko.

If PM cares to read my last sentence, I'm referring to a communal action. My efforts in the scale of this particular action was quite minimal. After all, most of the anger has come from Indonesian language blogs which PM presumably doesn't bother to read - because he can't.

Gravatar Now, now children... The really amazing thing here is how the Indonesian blogging community has actually been used for good and not evil. Why is this amazing? Because it is the bitchiest, nastiest, most childish community outside the DPR.

Gravatar PM...

There are plenty of people blogging on all manner of things in both Indonesian and in English. This includes traffic, annual floods, infrastructure, and consumer debt, among many others.

Some problems or issues are easier to address than others.

Miko...

It does seem that the PM's commentary is personal. Maybe there is a history there or something.

Brett...

Now that is not a very nice thing to say about the DPR :D

Gravatar Mr "postmaster" is just out for a scrap I think.

Funny how berani people get when anonymous...

Gravatar i've been missing all the fun here!!

yeah there are people in the blogosphere who get extrememly pissed when bloggers (not only expat but indo bloggers) criticize the constant stupidity of our government, for example.

@brett: you're suggesting that the indo blogging community is no better than DPR? damn! must. join. another. blogging. community.

Gravatar Contrary to popular belief, Trappists don't take a vow of silence[4] [5]. However, they will generally only speak when necessary, and idle talk is strongly discouraged.

What say ye?

Gravatar I'm keeping mum, Mr. Snag.

Whoops, I spoke out of turn.

Gravatar I recommend all interested in this issue to read Rob's post on the legal and technological aspects
