D-G Budhi M. Suyitno was even more sanguine. He said, "In essence, there is no direct impact on us as we don't have any airline flying to Europe."
This must win the "daftest comment of the day" award. Of course there's going to be an impact - and it will be significant, and immediate. International companies will boycott Garuda and the rest, requiring their staff to use other carriers. These people fill the first and business class seats, not the cut-price economy class cabins, and represent the real profit in the airline market. When these passengers stop flying Indonesian airlines, the pinch will be most painful.
Perhaps Mr Suyitno needs a crash course in airline economics.

There was no plane crash in Indonesian airline industry for awhile, was that because BJ Habibie did not involve anymore? I heard he proposed to SBY to resume his IPTN project, so watch out!
