J,
I'd personally prefer Telkom blocking Blogspot once and for all rather than blocking it "once in a while" like this.
Because if they don't block it forever, their motive becomes unclear. What is it that they are seeking to do, really? Is it really because of the Presidential diktat? If so, they should've blocked Blogspot forever, correct?
And btw, in regards to that "I kissed the cat, hit the boyfriend and then went shopping" thing, does my blog enter that category? Just curious

I don't link to blogs I don't read, Toshi.

It's very sad that Telkom block blogspot without any clear intention why. I just wish that we don't go back to New Order Regime when the Govt banned everything that they don't like.

This is alarming to say the least...we cannot allow a bunch of stupid powerful authorities to dictate all the respect Indonesia has won for its freedom of speech. Blocking blogspot doesn't mean that nothing else is available. They are still accessible via proxies, so the purpose?!? From what I read 147 call center employees also seem to be totally clueless about the entire thing, some have not heard anything about blocking of blogs, some does not even aware of what blogging is all about. Oh well!

@elyani: of course those Telkom ppl haven't heard of blogs! I once chatted with the Telkom Speedy guy who came over to my house and I figured out that he hasn't heard of Wikipedia.
Ain't that asinine of him? I honestly wondered what kind of websites does he browse apart from his e-mail.
Telkom, just like other big companies in the country, are just filled with a bunch of idiots, just like the government.
