are you sure of your figures? It does make Boediono a good millionaire...
and Mega; where did you get that story about having her future provided for?
surely you can find the Pres's salary - its actually quite handsome, even in Australian terms (check salary of PM). Even more considerable are the salaries of the members of DPR...

Probowo! Imagine if you will where HIS money has come from. It would be a better than good bet he has multiple Swiss bank accounts as well.
Just how is it possible that he has this money?
It simply has to be one of the most tainted fortunes in all of Indonesia (discounting, of course, what the Cendana clan holds).
I can smell the blood from here!

My income is far lower than that of the positions you mention, Anong.
So please let me know your sources, and who holds these particular positions, preferably with the URLs.Presumably it's not one of the presidential candidates.
Thanks.

J...
Thanks fir the plug.
My thing with the wealth reports is the auditing and the follow up. The reason for the wealth reports seems to be to establish a base line that can be compared to an end of service wealth report.
What would be fun would be once the initial wealth reports are done, they are not only verified for accuracy but the individuals are then required to justify where the wealth and assets come from.
There has been all this talk about shifting the burden of proof to the individual submitting the report but this does not seem to be materializing in practice.
When in doubt claim your wealth and assets are an inheritance. Because the belief is that dead men tell no tales...a good forensic accountant might though :D

I find it absolutely amazing that these people can purport to be doing normal, ok paid jobs and then declare these massive sums of money. Is this not just a glaring admission of pre-election corruption and a big flashing warning to would-be voters? A man of the people with 'about' 90 horses. If even one of my horses went missing I'd want an enquiry!

Between politics, faith and sex
Anand Krishna , Jakarta | Tue, 05/19/2009 10:00 AM | Opinion
this guy got about 30 comments to his article - all heart felt. Why can't expat bloggers (except perhaps Indonesia matters) attract such spontaneous earnet reactions??

The Jakarta Post reports this bit of news today...

Prabowo gets 10 ministrial posts from Megawati
The Jakarta Post , Jakarta | Mon, 05/25/2009 2:38 PM | National
"Prabowo Subianto would have the authority to select up to 10 Cabinet ministers should he be elected as vice president for Megawati Soekarnoputri in the upcoming presidential election.
The Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party chairman Suhardi said it was part of the power-sharing deal that was finally agreed by Prabowo to pair up with Megawati as her running mate for the July 8 presidential election..."
Including this comment from Megawati:
"Political parties are not for those who want to use them as tools just to grab power."
Madness, I tell you...

I don't know how that woman can look herself in the mirror (for various reasons in fact now I come to think about it).

Because we don't all have titles including the word "sex", Anong!
The article is here if anyone wants to know what Anong is interested in.

I am kind of interested in what the article means for those of us not engaged in public service or other worthy professions that do not allow us to burn off that pent up sexual energy.
Do you think he is taking the piss and actually saying that the rest of us are just a bunch of wankers?
:D
