Well, I got 12 without much need to wiki, even though question 4 is largely subjective (I'm going with Clough, Ferguson, Paisley and Shankly).

But come off it these questions are in no way comparable to the Aussie questions, a Melbourne Cup style question would be "Where is the Grand National horse race run?" not these mind bogglingly obscure questions.

By the way as I understand it new applicants for Indonesian citizenship are asked similar questions. Does David think that the Indonesians should also scrap such a citizenship (and language) test and simply award citizenship to anyone who asks for it?

Or does that only apply to "so-called advanced democracies"?

Gravatar well, i could only answer one of the twenty questions (no. 18; Brian Epstein).

which is a great relief, because i'm not british!

Gravatar To become British you can just pay to pass the "citizenship" test. Same setup as the SIM in Jakarta.

See article:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/engla...ire/ 6353699.stm

I've seen the UK test. Questions like put in order (through the year) the patron saints of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

Gravatar I know where the Grand National is held!! =D

Gravatar Och is it yersel' there Adeline me wee darlin'? Shure don't we know ye know where the Gran' National is run, isn't it in the very city you're livin'?

Gravatar Biased questions, two questions on Wales, one question on Scotland (well not really as Mary was beheaded in London) and no questions on Northern Ireland.

I fail....but then again, I'm not going back!

Gravatar Check question 14 Diligaf.

Gravatar Actually by my reckoning questions 1, 2, 4, 9 (obviously), 15, 16, and 19 (tenuously) are connected to things Scottish.

Why two New Zealanders (Hillary and James) are included I don't know.

Gravatar Wasn't it Hilary with but the one 'l', Miko?

And the question isn't about them ~ it's about the English leader of the expedition - (Sir) John Hunt.

Gravatar *Wasn't it Hilary with but the one 'l', Miko?*

Google it.

Gravatar I got three of 'em off the top of my head.

#2. Spencer
#6. Linford Christie, 1992 Barcelona Olympics, in 9.96 seconds.
#18 as Kuku mentioned above.

Gravatar Thanks, fellows,
I amn't able tae sleep and now I know why. Oh, and by the bye or the way, there was an NI question that related to Peoples Democracy...so where the hell were you in 1968, you young fart!

All harmless fun, we hope!

Gravatar David, I pointed out question 14 already to Dilligaf.

As to where I was in '68 I was in the Bogside helping Bernadette break up the bricks to battle the B' Specials, (actually I wasn't, I was in my very nice semi-detached home in a comfortable middle class suburb of the Waterside, but in my defence I was only a year old at the time, but my uncles, grandfather and most of my cousins were there, does that count?).

Gravatar I'm sorry but I was a wee bit pissed when I sent in my last response. Anyhow, all harmless fun, I hope. I simply want to make the point that the whole True Brit idea is pretty much a nonsense, at least in the terms that governments can be counted on to come up with.

Gravatar i can onli answer no. 3 w/o wiki: Spencer, rite? haha... not a british, i am
