Illegal ha, no one should be illegal. Just because your an immgrant does not make you illegal. People who think humans are illegal because they come to work, live and be part of the America must think they own the world. People have a right to live and have justice its part of the constution. Remember Justice for all not just Americans. All anti-immgrants should think befor they react with anger. Remember your ancestors, they were immgrants how would you feel if they were denyed a chance to have freedom. You wouldnt have been here and this country would not exits.

Gravatar Who said justice is only for Americans?

JUSTICE = the administration of law (Merriam-Webster)

We have borders for a reason. We have laws to protect them. Those who enter/stay in the country illegally have, by definition, broken the law, which we administer to provide JUSTICE.

I remember my immigrant ancestors extremely well. I only have to go back as far as my father, who cherished the citizenship he earned through the proper legal channels.

If you really think that we'd all be better off with no borders, then I hope you're actively working toward that goal, and not just calling people who disagree with you insulting and unfounded names.

Gravatar The United States Congresman should not only listen to Mexicans, he needs to listen to everyone. Your point is just retarded, okay so he said Mexican, and had he said Irish Community would it have mattered? No, because Irish, Mexican, Polish, British or Lakota, we are all American by mere virtue that all of them works to build and make this nation stronger. I applaud the Mexican activists as my fellow Americans. Its about time Hispanics started taking action and demanding that their nation, America, uphold her crede: That all men are created equal. Racism has no place in America, why dont you get out?

Gravatar Well Charlie always nice when an unAmerican asshat reveals himself. Let me explain an elementary point to you.

Mexicans belong where? In Mexico!

Americans belong where? In America!

Now, lest in your ignorance you accuse me of racism allow me to explain how this works. Any person in the world can become an American, but if a person stands on the soil of this great land and refers to themselves as Mexicans or Irish or whatever. I wold like them to get the hell out and go home. This is my home, I'm an American, if you think of yourself as a Mexican, your in luck, there's a country called Mexico directly south of us. I'll bet you can stroll right over the border.

So what are you waiting for!

Asshat!

Gravatar Yes on HR4437. Hispanics come into America thinking they can do whatever they want. They think they should change out country that out founding fathers worked so hard for. Why should we help hispanics when they make fun of whites? I have friends who are hispanics. My school is 90%hispanic.. 5%white..5% other! I am not going to support anyone who is going to call white people gringos or other shit like that! And dont get me started on hispanics and colleges! Just becuase they are the "minority" (which I do not beleive) they are looked for by colleges. Colleges want minorities, even if their grades are LOWER! YES ON HR4437! And all these protests, they just want to get out of school! YES YES YES YES ON HR4437

Gravatar illegal na don't think so if you read your history this was MEXICO so we aren't the real immigrants you HATERS are

Gravatar Well, anonymous (pretty courageous that).

Tell you what, point out one Latin American country with a functioning economy and we'll talk.

Gravatar I am a HUGE supporter of HR4437.

First of all, for those who think this bill is "anti-hispanic" or "anti-immigrant", try reading it more closely. I believe it doesn't mention race specifically (although it does address tighter security on a border that needs it) and it also isn't "anti-immigrant" at all. It's anti - ILLEGAL - immigrant.

If people of any race (yes, that includes hispanic) want to come here and find a better life, then by all means..come over. The only thing America is asking is that you do it LEGALLY. Is that so hard?

America was built on immigrants. In fact, everybody except the native americans are immigrants, but they came through Ellis Island which was a station for them to register properly and receive their legal documentation. They came in through the proper channels.

Despite all the economic drain that illegal immigrants are causing this country (net estimate is a 10 BILLION dollar drain per year - and by "net" I mean the 26 billion dollar drain plus the 16 billion dollar contribution made by illegal immigrants which still leaves a 10 billion dollar drain on our economy), there's also the issue of illegal immigrant children using legal citizens tax money for public education, crowding the classrooms and myriads of other problems including illegal immigrants use of government funded medical care when they don't contribute any tax money to it.

Again, let me state this is not a racist post...I'm not anti-hispanic/mexican/latino etc. I'm also not anti-immigrant. I just think that if you want to come to this country so bad, you should have the balls to go through the proper channels and not try to be sneaky about it. Be honest and respect America.

p.s. If you're going to rant and rave that you should be allowed to stay in America, try having enough respect to use proper Engligh grammar and spelling. That is the language of America after all.

Gravatar First of all, I would like to point out that those people who refer to all hispanic people as "Mexican" are ignorant. They should first try to get an education and then talk. Another point I would like to make is that coming to America is a very difficult process if one would like to come here the "legal" way. It takes YEARS and one must have money. And for those who say that hispanics or illegal immigrants in general come here to try to change America, you are wrong. No one is trying to change anything. What illegal aliens want is to be treated humanely and not like animals or criminals. Isn't that why the puritans left Europe? To escape from persecutions going on in Europe. People come to America to make themselves better people. They come here to save their families, sometimes from genocide, and all they want to do is live peacefully in America. They are escaping persecution, poverty, and injustices in their home countries. Is it truly moral to reject people who are being killed in their home countries because they are Christians, native indians, ect.? Even though I don't belong to a certain religion or even believe in a god, i know that is truly an injustice. The government allows immigrant children to join the army. Immigrant children have lost their lives in this stupid war in Iraq. Why? Because they love this country and want to make a difference. They just want to be viewed as human beings! This bill, I believe, is racist. Why? Let me ask you a question, when you think of illegal immigrants what is the first ethinic group that pops into your mind? Yeah I know, HISPANICS. No one really thinks as white Europeans, Africans, or Asians as illegal. The targeted group here are hispanics. Now even legal hispanic immigrants or citizens will have to probably carry around an identification card or something like that in fear that they might discriminated. And yes, colleges do give some slack to "HISPANICS," but you know why. Because they have a harder time trying to bring themselves up. But this is not a significan t slack. It is minute since colleges want hardworking people who are eager to learn. Why do they reject some White American and accept some Hispanics? Because those white Americans think that they have a free ride through life because they are white and think that they don't have to work hard to get to college. Well Newsflash, you need to work hard if you truly want to get into college. And you know, frankly I am tired of arguing against ignorant people who think only because they are AMERICAN it maked them better than anyone else. No wonder Europeans dislike us. I am 100% American and I am willing to do anything for this country. I am not illegal and I am not hispanic, but you know what, I am against this bill since it is inhuman. What do most religions in the world point out: treat others as you would like to be treated." Are we doing this? If this bill does pass, I know that everyone in the US is going to be crying to get th

Gravatar Miriam, I think hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens marching in the streets are most definitely trying to "change things" on a massive scale.

Here's what I would say to you. Culture matters. Mexico's culture is a mess, hence the country sucks. If you really want to argue that, um okay, but why are people fighting to get here?

Colleges "help" Hispanics because they are multi-cultural lunatics. I'm sure most people pouring over the border do eant a better life, but answer me this, why should we allow people to stroll over the southern border because they live in a corrupt country when Chinese people live in hell and have a much harder time getting here.

Where's the fairness there?

Gravatar I agree Miriam. It is tough to get into America legally. That doesn't make it any more "ok" to sneak in (across the border or by any other means) and then get mad when someone points out that it's breaking the law to do so. Let's have a look at the definition of "illegal" and then try to say they aren't criminals.

"Illegal"
il·le·gal
adj.
Prohibited by law.

n.
An illegal immigrant.
(taken from dictionary.com - I didn't give the example...the site did)

This bill is basically simply enforcing laws that seem to have been largely ignored.

Do you know that an illegal immigrant living in California can't be deported for being illegal? They have to break another law in order to be deported. I think this is completely ridiculous! They've already broken one law, but as long as they don't get caught doing anything else...they're free to stay here and take advantage of government services they don't pay tax for.

As far as immigrants coming here from Europe to escape persecution when America was first founded...there weren't really any laws back then regarding immigration. As the years went by, Americans set up a system for migration and that needs to be respected. We have it in place for a reason. If it's ok for people just to sneak in however they want, why even have a process for migration at all?? That's silly to even think about. The migration system allows America to screen the people who want to come in to make sure they have the best interest of this country at heart. It's set up to make America a better place for them and for American citizens.

I'm speaking on this subject as an American citizen who is migrating to another country. I'm going to do so legally and I don't have a ton of money, but I happen to know they do accept skilled workers so I will save every dime I can and go through the process legally. Yes, it takes lots of time and patience, but if it's something you want badly enough, you should be willing to try an obtain it honestly...even if it means waiting.

p.s. Not everybody targets only "hispanics". In southern California (where I live) that happens to be the largest demographic of illegal immigrants, but I believe illegal immigrants should be judged by the fact that they're ILLEGAL and not by ethnicity. The bill doesn't "target" hispanic/latino/mexican etc. either except to set up extra security on a border that happens to be compromised at the moment. If Canadians were sneaking in the same way, I'm sure we'd be building a fence up there too.

Gravatar You know, they should just make it easier to get in here to the U.S. and make the laws on illegal immigration stricter.

Gravatar Anyone agree?

Gravatar I mean I know it's really hard to get in here, but I don't think immigrants should come here ilegally, as kariswright pointed out. If government could find a way to make it easier to come to the U.S. and make the waiting list shorter somehow, I would be happy

Gravatar Why can't we just find a compromise here?

Gravatar N.R.

Here's the thing. No one has the right to come here, but that's exactly how people act these days. It's a privilege to come here, it has value.

What you get with unrestrained immigration is even more immigration because people come and stick their foot in the door for the next couple of million, and suddenly you're talking about a flood.

I personally would stop all immigration for a while until people got the clue that no one is entitled to citizenship here.

Compromise, on what? opening the borders? Allowing huge numbers of immigrants in? Show me the compromise, what it might look like and we can talk.
