Here in the penumbra of the shadow cast by WallyWorld Central, with an IT site for WallyWorld possibly in the offing for America's Third World County™, we're unlikely to see wages like that... or any other IT jobs created, for that matter.
And, frankly, with the influence of the one-ton King Kong to the south, we're already experiencing a great deal of loss of the rural culture without much in economic benefit. Why, when we moved here, there weren't even any traffic lights in the county. Now, there are thirteen and growing!
*sigh*
Well, at least the local, two-exchange, baling wire and chewing gum telco now has competition in the form of intermittant cell phone coverage and VOIP over cable internet access.
Oh. Well.
