Hitler Rose and Hitler Fell!
Racist Minutemen go to Hell!
That was the chant/rant at this evening’s gathering at the Fourth Congregational Church located 2625 N. Talman Ave., Chicago, IL
What was supposed to be a Forum/Debate described by Pastor Dan Wood as “an unprecedented open forum and debate at our Church between two totally opposite views.” degenerated quickly into anarchy.
One view was heard before the people in attendance were asked to leave the church. That was the view of the people shouting and screaming while stomping their feet in protest against The Minuteman attendees and speaker Rosanna Pulido.
The Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights apparently cancelled their participation at the last minute. The representative from that organization, Gabe Gonzalez failed to follow through with his commitment to participate.
A decision was made to call upon Rosanna to answer ten questions that were to be presented to her by the moderator. Once Rosanna answered a question, people in the audience were invited to respond or question her regarding her answers to the ten questions.
Pastor Wood explained the change of plans. He told us to remember that we were in a church and to be respectful of it and each other. He then asked everyone to please rise and sing The National Anthem. Everyone did. He then gave the microphone to another pastor to say a prayer. That gentleman asked the crowd to be mindful that we were in a church and to act accordingly. He was about to begin the prayer when the chanting/ranting, and stomping started.
After several minutes of the anti-minuteman mode of conduct, immigration activist, Niurus Ramos, took the microphone and attempted, by yelling at the top of her voice, to be heard by crowd. She was making an effort to tell them to stop what they were doing and participate productively in what was left of the so-called Forum/Debate. She was not the least bit successful in her endeavors to calm her group down or to restore any semblance of order to the out-of-control situation.
The behavior of the Anti-Minuteman people (if that is what I am to call them, maybe some of the are members of The Anti-Minutemen Five organization) was shocking. The look in their eyes was one of pure hatred as they carried on and on and on.
After what seemed like a long time to allow them to continue with their inappropriate actions and rhetoric, the event was cancelled and everyone was asked to leave the church.
Those of us who want to see the invasion of our country stopped, and stopped now, have stepped forward to influence others to do the same.
As Illinois Minuteman Project members “We will display the highest level of restraint, thus proving we are responsible citizens and that our character is consistent with our ability to stay within the boundaries of the law.”
This is how I saw it and how I feel about it now. Those that say "Por La Raza todos, y por los otros, nada." are the real racists.

This is our country folks. This is what our politicians have done to us. While they live with bodyguards in gated communities, they've unleashed this reconquista horror on all of us who have to live in the real world
Our cities & now even our small towns are filling up with reconquista thugs who brazenly defy our respect for the rule of law & use mob rule because they know our police are told to stand down & let them be
I saw a ABC report on this tonight (by the way Michelle, they showed you) & they showed one thug in the church screaming that he crossed the border illegally & what are they going to do about it
This insanity is growing so fast that it will soon be uncontrollable, all the while our politicians pander & appease them even more
American citizens cannot go to a church in their OWN CITY without fear of being attacked. This is what we've allowed our "leaders" to do to us
The Daley's, the Blagojevich's, the Durbin's & the Schakowsky's, this is their doing. They've unleashed this madness upon the Illinois people, They're the ones who vote for every pro-illegal bill & against any enforcement. They're the ones who stand shoulder to shoulder with the illegals & hug & applaud them. They're the ones who give these thugs the go ahead to use mob rule in our city

At this point you almost have to laugh at the childish, kneejerk way these people instantly conflate the Minutemen with racism. But in a way it makes sense, because generally it's a winning argument (if I may call it that) -- by this time, John and Jane Public know well that if you come out against immigration, even illegal immigration, you will be called a racist, and no one wants that, and very few really know how to respond. So people keep their mouths shut.
But opposition to both the mass legal and illegal immigration going on now should be, IMO, based partly on ethnic grounds. There are two reasons for this: 1) demographically, most newcomers today are Hispanic, and it is a fact (no matter how inconvenient some people may find it) that when compared to the existing (mostly white) population, Hispanics are a lot less likely to do well in school, and a lot more likely to be criminal, and so to import them in such large numbers makes no sense at all; and 2) the demographic heritage of the US as a majority white nation (think 'Founding Fathers') is worth preserving (IMO, anyway), and people who see it this way ought to be able to say so without having to deal with the racism charge.
Most countries would have enough pride, not to mention common sense, to know that it is a really bad idea to allow immigration to cause a demographic transformation. And then work up the guts to keep that from happening, no matter if some people call them names. Apparently not the US.

The second trackback is actually to a site I'd never heard of before that's apparently aggregating my feed, then sending trackbacks to the blogs I link to. That's a bit worrisome. The link to the real post is under 'homepage'.

Thank you for your fair, truthful reporting. I apologize for the treatment you received on behalf of some idiots here in Chicago. I believe in tolerance of all ideas and the right to hold an opinion. But, this was garbage. These people were given opportunity to protest and demonstrate outside the church. We allowed use of church lawn. The Police and the church agreed to allow them to even use the street. However, no one expected in the church (in the sanctuary) no less for the language and shouting to erupt. Including the use of the "F" word. Now, I am hearing reports that the church if we do not drop charges on the jerk who started the chaos inside. I DON'T THINK SO !!!
God Bless You !!!
(Wish we would of had time to talk)
