I was oogling..err.. watching Michelle on The Factor replay at 11pm EST and then she came back from break and said "now on to immigration..." and I was all like "F*CK YEAH!!" here we go..and then Gerald Ford died and the broadcast was interrupted. I Sh*t you not, it was right when she was going into the immigration portion.
I saw the "Fox News Alert" thingy come up and I said "WTF! This better be something important and not another bust of Paris Hilton for driving drunk or the like". So I had mixed emotions..."Aww Ford died, dammit!!! I want my Michelle Malkin immigration fix!"

Heh! So, does she get her own show do you think?
I dunno. I've been following Michelle for a long time. Even before I started blogging when she'd ocassionally appear on Fox and was almost exclusively illegal immigration. I don't know how long ago that was, 7 years? I'd drop everything and watch her when she was on.
One reason is that my wife is also Filipino and Michelle was the first Filipino (and a woman even, a Filipina!) that I saw on TV in a non entertainment related position. (Hell good luck finding even an entertainment related Filipino on TV in America)
I don't think Michelle is combative enough and holds herself back too much. She has such a fire and passion in her and you can see it when she's on the other side of the deal (being a contributor rather than a host).
I also think she needs to stick to her absolute best topic, immigration. She just shines so brightly when she's discussing it because she can pretty much beat back any argument made by the other side with documented facts and examples because of all of her study and research for her two books and her immigration reporting for years for the papers.
Don't get me wrong, she's ok at other topics, but I don't see the same fire and passion in her as I do when I see her hear the word immigration.
She needs to be the "Nancy Grace" of immigration hehe...I hate Nancy Grace, but nobody can ignore her. A fiery woman not afraid to show her opinion.
