I agree that an apology from Rowen is warranted. But I doubt one will be forthcoming.
Rowen certainly took the long road to avoid the substance of Eggster's column--that the thug cannot do simple economic math.
I'll settle for a helping of "shut up" consumed by Rowen. Of course, he won't take that either because it isn't in the nature of leftists to admit they're wrong.
OK, I left this on Fraley's comments first, but since you are all on the same defensive talking-points here:
Rowen is right. “Thug” is the new N-Word. Used by right-wingers only in the context of African-Americans. And proudly so.
Show me one time when any right-winger referred to anyone other than a black guy as a “thug”. Doesn’t happen, certainly not with the same proud vehemence. Why does Belling think he is so bold, bragging “yeah, I called him a thug, now what are you going to do about it”? Because he knows the racist implications and he’s proud of it.
One thing I never understood is why right-wingers play these race-baiting games and then act offended when someone calls them on it. Be proud of your clever divisiveness. Stop hiding behind code words.

So Plaisted owes all right-wingers an apology (nothing new), Jim Rowen owes Steve Eggleston an apology, and Lee Holloway remains a thug.
This is all fun, but Plaisted et al, have no conscience when making a false accusation of racism. that they would willingly attempt to smear someone's reputation just to "get" a conservative blogger is just reprehensible. That they do it so badly only diminishes the effectiveness of the charge. What a sad betrayal of the cause they supposedly champion.

It's called a code word. Right-wingers smear their own reputations every day -- they don't need my help. I don't have to stretch to "get" anyone -- they "get" themselves. Don't blame me if it's so transparent anyone can figure it out.
No Mike, when I use code words, I only use them about you. For example, when I call you a deranged, paranoid lefty, I really mean that I'm calling you a paranoid, deranged lefty.
Other than that, I pretty much write exactly what I mean.
