Well said. Those of us who've served, while finding burning and desecration despicable, recognize it for it's ultimate incarnation. It's free speech. There's too much curtailing of Free Speech going on these days, what with Hate speech/crimes, etc. Let's not add to it. Rather, fight the attempts being made to restrict our rights. You may not like what someone has to say, but, who will be left to defend you when they come to take away what YOU like to say?

Apparently it's also good for posing and leaning on, and/or as a chair cover. Look on the bright side. At least she's not bending over in that pic.
And I thought this place was closed!

Okay, people can burn the flag in protest. And it brings up an interesting question about the flag's meaning: does it stand for the current politicians' policies or the original values of this nation? Vietnam protestors burned it for current government policies. But it also means traditional American values to many, timeless values. I've come to think the flag can symbolize whatever slice of history one wants to associate with it, making it a symbol of many meanings, like different languages, dividing us.

Possibly the best thing you've ever written. It's always encouragining when I see one of you Liberals/Conservatives embrace freedom.
It's so silly that anyone thins there should be so many restrictions on a symbol of freedom.
