James, I think that banning Islam in the West is the only long-term answer to the problem. It may not be ideal, it may fly in the face of the way we regard ourselves as a tolerant society (and we are) but it's now a simple matter of self-preservation.
Any other organisation that called for the the overthrow of the government and the rule of law would be banned. Calling Islam a "religion" allows it to operate under the protections traditionally afforded all religions in the West, but in fact it's a murderous ideology and deserves no such protection.
The communist party was banned in several countries and we managed to live with that. What's the difference?

Since they are unable and unwilling to reform their religion then it should be banned in the West. If they want the ban to be lifted then they have to reform. The first steps would be treating other religions equally and respectfully in muslim dominated countries. No special tax to non-muslims and no discrimination. The regulating of Imams to exclude extremists. The recognition of Israel's right to exist.
I know it's not going to happen.
I predict Canada will be the first Western country to fall to Islam.

I'm not roman Catholic, the response from the Moslems were typical.

The people that practice violent Islam will never go away. If the adherents of the so called religion are true to their Prophet, then the evil he imbued into his virulent form of nationalism (the Kroran) will compel more violence from it's adherents as it has since Mohamed lead his first war party out to kill those that didn't agree with him 800 years ago.
As it has been said, "not all Muslims are terrorists, however most all terrorists are Muslims". I see no difference in the fascism that launched rockets into London and the fascism that launched rockets into Israeli cities.

here's a better idea. drive to make all western nations completely energy self-reliant freeing ourselves from middle east oil. once that is accomplished, pull all western (NATO) troops out of the middle east and fortify our own borders. in the interim period between now and becomming completely self-sustained energy-wise, ban all further immigration of muslims and those already here who espouse hatred for the west should be stripped of said citizenship and carted back to their homeland. it may take a while and require some hardship and sacrifice but if we don't, those muslims will outbreed us, overpopulate our lands and through their medieval tendencies send us all back to the friggin' dark ages.

It may seem that it'll never happen, but I truly believe that one day, probably in the next 5 years, islam will be banned in our countries. We don't have to say or do anything, the moslems themselves show us by their words and actions how intolerant and evil the islamic/satanic religion is. The moslems will ensure this ban takes place. The koran is nothing but a terror manual. Islam was started by a thief, mass murderer, paedophile who married 1 of his wives when she was only a little 5 year old and had sex with her when she was just 9(8 and a bit in western years!) the koran even states he had the hots for her when she was still a baby. Is this sick creature a 'prophet'? I think not. He slaughtered, lied, stole, raped and took people for slaves. This is the man that moslems strive to be like. Reading the koran, allah spends an awful lot of time dishing out torture in hell. Hmm, God doesn't 'hang out' in hell but this allah does. He's none other than Satan himself. Moslems believe that the best deed they can do is to slaughter people who are non moslems. This supposedly assures them of entry to 'paradise'. The moslem sick idea of 'paradise' is an 'in the sky' brothel, a 24 hour orgy of sex with endless virgin women and young pre-pubescent boys who can be chooses from market like setups(and they say we are immoral!) Is it any wonder islam is so sick and violent. Yes, ban the kkkoran and Islam. The sooner the better!
