JR, he has another black mark against him, he's had experience in going up against very dangerous types and that is not what poltically correct policing is about these days: it's all about making the streets safe for dangerous crims and punishing decent types for, well, saying things not p.c. , for offending some-one's feelings and through a long list of oh so hoorible crimes against p.c.

A police service more representative of local minorities? Are they saying that black people only want to deal with black cops, and white people only want to deal with white cops, and women only want to deal with female cops? This sounds racist and sexist to me. If I want a cop, I want a qualified cop. I don't care what colour they are, and neither should ethnic groups.

But I must admit, I'd rather have a male cop than a female one, if the female one got into the force with less qualifications than normal. Same goes for a cop from a minority group.

My understanding is that the Poms are having trouble recruiting bobby's (?), so much so they are targeting Australians.

We now have Australians serving with sub-standard British police (and not sub-standard because of colour, in case the lefty trolls around here are fuming already- but sub-standard because they are clearly not the best qualified).

I'm also concerned about what this tells the 'minorities'. Essentially affirmative action and the left are saying 'you're too black to get a job by yourself, so we'll help'.
