I assume that you are commenting on the rumoured banning of taking the Australian flag to the Big Day Out.
On one of the online forums I frequent there was a suggestion that the whole thing was a publicity stunt to ensure the sale of tickets and merchandising.
Notice that the BDO organisers never actualy anounced such a ban and that they also denied that a ban on the flag existed in teh first place, but not until a huge flurry of publicity had occured over a few days.
The Big Day Out would like to thank you for the free publicity, in the guise of moral outrage.
JR might want to think long and hard about allowing someone as deranged as Tiberius to publish threats of violence against large sections of the Australian community on his website.

By the way - Tiberius's rant is also factually innacurate. The BDO organisers did not say that the flag is nothing more than a gang colour - they said that some attendees last year were using it as a gang colour.

Simo, I have always made it a policy to ignore political correctness. Even when I was with Telstra (like everyone else in the country is at some stage lol), and had a large team to manage, they got told early in the piece that I don't play the pc games.
I do diplomacy and tact, and if they are offended, say so. Otherwise, just keep on working.
I found if you play straight and fair, then nobody gets upset. You can always find the troublemakers as they make themselves known. There are ways to deal with them without playing the pc game.

All events have been sold out for a long time. They sell out quickly every year and have done so for a long time. They don't need publicity.
All this was, was an attempt to reduce the number of meatheads parading around the grounds using the flag as a disguise for their racist tendencies. "Kiss the flag or we'll bash ya!". The festival is about watching bands and the organisers were just tyring to bring it back to that a little, however they did it very poorly.
All of the people who are outraged by this are just using it as an excuse to further push their own fucked up views into the open.

No, booze doesnt make people think the way they do but i can seriously exacerbate their actions so if the organisers recognise there is an issue why are they fueling it, literally, with alchol.
