Last I checked, no one made a fuss on Yom Kippur. Although unlike Ramadan, it's a day to atone for ones sins, not complicate matters by going into terrorist attack overdrive. There simply are no Jewish rituals or traditions I can think of that require coercion of third-parties. It's a personal thing, and they aren't going to run after you for mixing meat with milk, or having a lobster roll. Judaism, it's about controlling yourself, not others. Islam, it's about controlling everyone else, and not necessarily yourself, judging from reports of Islamists' personal behavior.

Employers and staff are already disadvantaged by having woozy, starving colleagues during the fasting period. Now a stupid rule to enshrine this anti-work practice. I would get sent home if I was affected by alcohol, but if I'm light-headed due to starving myself that's A-OK.

This is absolutely terrible. Yes, I think lamb is more appropriate than ham. And a nice Cup-a-soup, they smell delicious when you are hungry.
