Gravatar I have said it before, and I'll say it again. Polls are more useless than ever, when it comes to Obama. I believe that people are going to tell pollsters "obama", just so they don't sound racist; but when they get into the voting booth it will be a different story. I truly suspect that Obama is a much weaker candidate than he appears.

Gravatar He could hardly get much weaker: freshman senator, fully invested in notorious Chicago politics, no executive experience, consorts with anti-Americans of various stripes, no foreign policy chops, no foreign policy ideas that don't sound like a Coke commercial, no economic proposals that don't sound like socialism...

This is what happens when a party decides to nominate an "identity" costume rather than an actual candidate.

Gravatar We will now be treated to many versions of how historic this is, Barack Obama as the Jackie Robinson of Presidential politics. The media will continually remind us that it doesn't matter if Obama is inexperienced and even incompetent, that he has troubling friends and naive even dangerous ideas about this country and the world. Because it's historic and groundbreaking, his candidacy.

But you know, Jackie Robinson could actually play baseball. And he did it really really well.

Obama? We'll see how good he really is, I guess. Or maybe not, if being historic is enough.

Gravatar Indeed he has manifest weaknesses with his base. So does Hillary. So does McCain.

Gravatar In a different time, the Chicago machine style of politics might have worked foisting an empty suit like BO on the electorate as a true visionary. In this internet era, no way. I feel like I'm watching the scene at the end of Terminator II where the liquid metal robot shape shifts through one character after another in its frenetic death throes... to no avail.

Gravatar the Illinois senator has won six of 14 contests, one less than the seven Clinton has won.

Nice math. Who won the 14th??

Pure Media Genius(tm)

Gravatar Truth to tell, I won't believe that Democratic women won't vote for Obama until it happens.

OTOH, I won't believe in a massive youth voter turnout until I see that, either.

Gravatar DaveG:

Over the last three months, the Illinois senator has won six of 14 contests, one less than the seven Clinton has won.

Try reading the next sentence:

(They essentially tied in Texas as she won the primary and he won the caucus.)

Gravatar The man hasn't yet been victimized by RNC commercials which practically write themselves. I fully expect him to resemble someone trying to fold a tarp in the wind.

Gravatar "victimize"? Yes, he does play the victim card very well. But remember that he started out saying that it was his judgment about the Iraq War and not his life experience that qualified him to be President. The more we learn about his actual experience as a Chicago pol, church member, etc., the clearer it becomes why.

Gravatar Obama controls the Obamaniacs like Plankton controlled Bikini Bottom in the movie. The world will have to pry off those bucket helmets before it's too late.
