so what? It just religious nuts being religious nuts. They've got theirs who happen to have power and we've got ours who fortunately don't have a complete hold on power or we'd be in the same situation. go ahead and vote for Huckleberry if you want to see an american taliban in power.

But, but I thought Afghanistan was evolving into a civilized country where our invasion had converted the backward savages into civilized human beings.
Oh well *shrugging shoulders*

Don't forget that "Shining Example of Democracy", Iraq, where Islamic law is now part of their constitution.

billT,
So you reckon the Christian right can't wait to have a few stonings, maybe some ritual crucifixitions but thank god the constitution prevents this? Rubbish. Islamism is a pathology. Christianity is a faith. Big difference.

the christianisists are more into burning at the stake, ritual disebowlement, mass executions and any other means of controlling large segments of the uneducated masses. Read your history. Just cause they've not been in powser for a few years doesnt mean it can't happen again. heck, look at the church's collusion with the nazi's in the holocaust.

Yes, this is the government our Fearless Leader held up in his SOTU address as a shining example of the successfulness of his idiocy.
Great job, Bushie!

billT,
Which CENTURY are you living in? Last time I checked Christians haven't been doing any burnings for several centuries. Equating the ROP with Christianity is outrageous.

We keep being told by Islamic apologists that Sharia law is much misunderstood by us infidels and that it is in fact a very enlightened form of justice.
Really? Where, outside of obvious advocacy groups such as CAIR, is this argument being made?
I can't comment on what is being said in the media or on the street in major European countries, but here in the U.S. I've never seen or heard- in any medium- this argument being made.
Where are these "western liberals" making the argument that Shar'ia law is misunderstood and enlightened? Can you provide some very recent examples?
I imagine this shouldn't be hard for you David since, as we all know, you can't walk the streets these days without tripping over some Liberal trying to bring you the Good News about Allah.

Sharia law has existed for centuries in these countries.
David please tell us of your personal experiences with sharia law. Have you ever lived in a country that practiced it ?
