Hey. I was a winner of Time's Person of the Year in 2006. However, I threw my award over the balcony of the Time Warner Center.
I actually don't have a problem with giving Putin the award, but let's be clear why he's getting it.
He's following in the path of another Vladamir. Lenin. Totalitarian dictator who wants to retain power and has set plans in motion that will enable him to retain power as prime minister. For this, and restarting the Cold War with the West and enabling the Islamists, he's getting the award.
Time sure does love its dictators.

He's also Ahmadinejad's protector and is Serbia's new best friend.
I loved the link from the question about Time's assertion of his great leadership. And pointing out that Time had also named Hitler & Stalin is classic JWF team stuff. lol

"He's the new czar of Russia and he's dangerous in the sense that he doesn't care about civil liberties, he doesn't care about free speech," Stengel said.

Moron, Time's person of the year is not an endorsment or a stamp of approval.
