I'm impressed that you wrote that much about Jenni Carlson, and come to find out the real reason you were mad was because she said he was weak for eating a sandwich with his mother.

The whole point of a column is so you can give your opinion and introduce speculation. You are allowed to put rumors in your column because it is a column. Her reporter would have never been on the front page because newspapers recognize what a column is - opinion.

Yes, even columns need to have sources and facts, but they also can have speculation. This was her opinion that she deduced from talking to sources.

I heard the coaches comments. Sounds like in her "defending" article, the school got to Gundy and told him his behavior was not professional, which is why he seems so intent on dropping the subject.

If the school thought the comments were wrong, then would have issued a letter on the inaccuracies of them. Since it has been four days it must not be a priority or the school realizes what everyone else does - and that columns can interject opinion!

Gravatar So you are all for her going after this player because he had a sandwich with his mother? Nice.

And if you are trule a reporter, you should know that the Coach can not discuss details of injuries without the players consent.

No wonder much of the media is viewed in such disfavor.

She is still a sleazy cheap shot artist.

Gravatar I had not read her original article until just now, and I find it funny people are getting so hysterical over this. I think you are attacking the wrong points of her story. Her whole point is she was trying to say that Reid should have challenged the coaches' decision to bench him rather than shrugging it off. It just took her a really long time to say it, and she was kind of snide about, making it sound like he was a momma's boy. Nonetheless, it makes Mike Gundy's reactions quite inappropriate, and I am starting to wonder if the hubbub is because she is a female sports reporter. It doesn't sound any different than stories I have read from male sports reporters.
