Just a side comment to your post re: the availability of the Kansas National Guard.
According to an interview I saw on Fox News, the general in charge of the KS National Guard said that 88% of all Kansas National Guard troops are still in Kansas and have not been designated to go anywhere.
The Air National Guard apparently has six (6) "heavy lift" capable helicopters and four of those are in Iraq.
Seems like everyone wants to blame the President for everything - natural disasters, Iraq, the Wot -all will obviously disappear if a Democrat is elected President in '08.
Or at least the MSM woulnd't connect them to the President.
