I don't think there's too much affirmative action marrow to be sucked from the bones of this case. The way I look at it, minorities in academically rigorous disciplines have got there in spite of racism/discrimination, and thoroughly merit their accomplishments. Everyone in disciplines like 'psychology and education' or 'blah-blah studies' has equally gimcrack qualifications, so who cares?

There is NO WAY that you can fake a Thermodynamics exam. The First, Second, and Third Laws of Thermodynamics are unforgiving. Even when the exams are open book, as they usually are in Engineering Schools. Been there, done that.
For an Ed School exam, all you have to do is parrot the nonsense that the prof and/or the textbook spew out. Just parrot the Ed School Fad of the Year, or of the Decade, and you will do fine. Been there, done that.
Re black women doctors, I might add that my mother was bedridden for years with a disease, which should have been diagnosed much sooner than it was. Once diagnosed, she did fine w meds.
Some years after being diagnosed and having moved to DC, going in for a periodic checkup, a black woman intern at Georgetown examining my mother asked my mother, "Did you ever suffer a blow to the back?" As it turns out, our family had been in a very bad auto accident several years before my mother became bedridden. My mother said that in looking back, she started to go downhill after that auto accident- blow to the back.
IOW, kudos to that black woman MD, who even as an intern showed good diagnostic skills.
