"It is an attempt to restore the balance between sexual privacy and sexual publicity that has been severely distorted by morals campaigners and prudish politicians."
I think they're also No on 8 backers.

I think this is why there is a hell.
They think life is about sex.
Maybe that's because they are perverts?? And sick??
They are like animals if they think life is just about sex.
What about the deeper and more meaningful aspects of community that they destroy - like the family unit which is the bedrock of a society that loves it's children.
When adults live to seek their own pleasure as hedonists, the bottom-line is that children suffer.
These are selfish people that are focussed on self-indulgence and who are not contributing to a loving and nurturing society for the rest of us.
I do not appreciate the incredible "sexualization" of all things. Human beings are becoming increasingly dehumanized and objectified the more sexualized the culture becomes.
All of the greater virtues of the warmth of a truly loving society are lost on these hedonists.
I would say the word "whore" applies as well as "whoremongers" and these are derogatory terms for a reason. There is nothing attractive about such whoredom. They have demeaned and degraded themselves as human beings.

Signs of a society with nothing else to do but indulge. How insignificant can one be.
I know I'm less than a piece of dust in the scheme of things, but I hope my time hasn't been wasted as badly.

People who think life is about sex are probably pretty depressed after they pass through their 20s.

People like that Laura above scare the @#$^% out of me.
That sort of obvious anger (can't you just *hear* her fingers hammering on that keyboard?) when talking about other people's sexual practices and views pretty much guarantees she wants laws to help her control such things. Laws and harsh penalties. And prisons.

Apart from the troops pact, the two men signed a long-term strategic framework, which Crocker said would define relations between the countries for years in "economy, culture, science, technology, health and trade, just to name a few."

Some people have the oddest tendency to fixate on the wrong part of the story. Frankly, any effort to decrease government interference in people's private lives is to be lauded- even if you dislike what some would choose to do.
But to address the topic several of the above focused on: I'm quite happy to live in a society that stopped employing the scarlet letter some time ago, though I suspect some of the commenters here view that period as a sort of golden age for morality.

Hi just found this blog,
The party was formed to provide a balance to the increasing conservative creep on sexual issues as well as addressing government interference. Yes there are many more important things to discuss such as war, poverty, climate change but you wouldn't know when hear Australian Senators such as Steve Fielding. I have certainly heard US religious leaders blame a lot of the above on the change is moral compass of Americans. Sex is important it is basic to our existence and tired and somewhat concerned that it is becoming more and more demonised. The party is also interested in issues around gender, sexuality and censorship. In censorship issues sex is often the canary in the coal mine. Once you see your sexual speech being curbed more will follow. Australia does not have a first amendment so we need to fight for our freedoms differently.
