Connie Kalitta has a long history in drag racing, very successful driver/owner. He used aircraft to ferry his car and team to events around the country and eventually built this airline.

It sucks to see that this happened to Connie Kalitta. Connie is a legend in the NHRA (The Bounty Hunter) and still fields four teams (3 top fuel dragsters, 1 funny car) and calls many of the tuning shots. He bought his first plane with money that he made from drag racing and eventually created a huge airline business. He built his empire from scratch and is the definition of a self-made man. He's even got his own 747 flight simulator at one of his buildings. I'm so glad that nobody was seriously hurt, it could have turned so much worse.
