There's a bit more difference than that, Big Al. The Earth being flat or round would be a relatively static phenomenon. By definition, climate change is, stick with me now, CHANGING!!! Further, the Earth being round or flat does not involve predicting the future. Your little hoax is all about predicting the future. Tell you what, make a prediction about next year, or the next five years, or whatever. If you can come within a tenth of a degree, the accuracy claimed by the predictions you espouse, I'll reconsider. Until then, go suck on the tailpipe of your idling limo.
It was the True Believers and the Pope who held on to the flat earth theory long after Galileo and Copernicus used scientific observations to show that not only was the earth round but it also orbited the sun. So who are the True Believers today and who is their Pope and who are the Galileos of today who face threats and insults --- and worse --- when they look to science and see the earth warming and cooling in response to the sun's radiation output? Why, it's Pope Algore and his zealots, determined to silence all skeptics, doubters and "deniers" like latter-day inquisitors. The Doctrines and Creeds of Man-Made Global Warming may not be questioned, and anyone who dares challenge Pope Algore's righteous orthodoxy is a heretic and a criminal.

THAT is not open to discussion. However; you are a fraud when you dismiss anyone who disagrees with you as being a crackpot, as Russ in the post above put it much more eloquently than I ever could.
And the Republican candidate for president is falling for this BS. Joe Liberman has him hook,line and sinker. Won't get my vote.

(a) Greenland was actually green when the Vikings discovered it during the Medieval Climate Optimum. (At that time wine grapes were grown in England.)
(b) Why the Greenland colony subsequently died out during the cold period of the early 14th Century
(c) why global warming has been observed on Mars
The existence of climate cycles (global "Warming" and "cooling") is not seriously in dispute. What is anything but settled science is whether human activity affects the pattern to any significant extent.

My personal observations lead me to believe that the Goracle devotees are amongst the most likely to consider the moon-landing, 9/11 - and all manner of facts - as conspiracies. They may not believe the earth is flat - but many of them do believe the earth is a Goddess that demands to be worshipped - or else.
No reasonable person disputes that global warming is a real phenomena - why wouldn't the earth's environmental temperature cycle in much the same way our bodily temperature's cycle? It's normal. As well, many people are willing to consider that earth's life forms (including humans) and their by-products interact and cause changes. So what? Additionally, most scientists will agree that there is no conclusive scientific evidence to support this phenomena as harmful.
