The NY Times has teed up Frank's cover with their front page story on Mr. Mudd, former CEO of Fannie Mae. Despite oblique references to "Democrats pressured Fannie", the report is clearly designed to deflect blame from Dems and make Mudd the fall-guy.
While I'm also furious at the Dems for this disaster I think their handmaidens in the media deserve equal approbation. The "redlining" stories in the late 90's unanimously condemned banks and encouraged gov't intervention. They do much the same with health care. In both cases they pretend that gov't compassion can nullify market forces. They're just as guilty as the politicians.
It certainly looks like Barney Frank put his boyfriend in the Fannie position.

Ah, that "cake-eating" remark was probably uncalled for, too. This man appears fully scandalized: he's actually being the things people used to distrust homosexuals for. He's assailable and blackmailable, and doing a lot of harm to homosexuals' public standing, which a lot of people have worked--and, let's face it, sacrificed--to enhance. Not to mention what he's done to the rest of the republic. Wonder what his security credentials look like? Hope he doesn't "get out much."
