This is also great news for aviation safety. Lott wants to impose user fees for getting weather briefings and air traffic control services to small planes while cutting the taxes for airlines. Some pilots would likely avoid using those services in order to save some money, at the potential of risk of flying into bad weather or missing out on potential other air traffic in their area.

I am glad this guy is gone. Senator Goodhair has done more harm to the conservative movement than I care to imagine.

And he's leaving in plenty of time for MS to appoint a real conservative with a little wisdom.

2007 has been a great year - first Chuck Hagel, now Trent Lott; two more RINOs out of the way. Lindsey Graham still to go...
