Gravatar To balance out this report I wonder if the NY Times will also review news stories to find out how many people lives were saved or they were saved from serious bodily harm by the actions of a veteran. I have no doubt that the former Marine here in Atlanta who got jumped by 5 gangbangers and managed to wrestle away a gun and shot one of the gang members killing him is included. He didn't iniate the action but he did kill somebody. No charges were filed.
There was also another veteran who saw a woman being carjacked. He rushed outside and when the perpetrator spun around with a gun the vet went to his truck got a gun and killed the thug. Once again no charges filed, but you still have to wonder if stories such as this were also used by the authors of this article.
How about a aeries of articles about veterans killed by civilians after returning home? I wonder which list will be bigger?

Gravatar The NYT also included vets who were involved in accidents while driving drunk that caused fatalities. The whole damn thing is skewed to serve a specific viewpoint. Very un-scientific.
