Ah yes, that. I can't imagine how hard it is to keep up with the latest who said what for doctors, but still... maybe she does know and is just opinionated. I mean, some pelvic infections can leave you infertile, and she might see is as simply a risk assessment on her part (as in: she doesn't want to get sued).
Whatever her reason, it is your choice, and finding a new doc is the way to go.
I feel you- I've been debating the IUD myself. I'm so sick of being on the pill. I found out my regular doc doesn't even do them, I have to get a gynecologist. I felt pretty stupid once they told me that- like, duh? Did I want someone who doesn't specialize in that field even trying to put an IUD in?

My naturopath is recommending cervical caps over IUD. I still haven't done anything, since there's no sex happening, but I might give them a try when it comes to it.
