Gravatar Hey, you think THAT'S ugly, take a look at the Dodge Super8 concept car that made the showcar circuit back around 2001. Note the high sill, the thick wheel surrounds, the bluff grille, the squat stance--this is what both the 300 and the new Dodge Magnum came from.

Still, there's nothing like the original.

Gravatar Call me contrarian, but I like the looks of both the concept and the production model. I think the production car looks expensive but muscular at the same time and definitely not shy. Kind of like an NFL lineman in an expensive and well fitted tux. And if I had need for a big sedan, I'd certainly try one out.

Gravatar The concept I just couldn't love--especially the one they had painted orange. The Chrysler that it birthed does have the benefit of looking all of one piece. I'm not sold on the roofline, but the interior and everything below the beltline is nice looking, and the Hemi version goes like stink.

Gravatar It's too boxy and the front end looks like a cramped truck face.

Linebacker in a tuxedo is not a bad image for it. But I prefer Cary Grant in a tuxedo.

Gravatar Continuing that theme, then, which car would be Cary Grant in a tuxedo? (I would say a '63 Buick Riviera.)

Gravatar Darker color.

Gravatar I saw one this weekend-- I'm with you Ms. Janis. That thing is ugly-- stopped or in motion.

Gravatar Darker color?! Well, I suppose I was going for the dinner jacket look. Here's a Riv in full formal.

Gravatar Comparing the two, I think I prefer the lighter one. Was there a convertible?

Gravatar Sadly, no--hardtops only.

Gravatar Hmmm, I think Cary needs a convertible.

Gravatar This was the best I could do on short notice.

Gravatar You're amazing. I'm proud to call you Pops.

Gravatar Just remember to take care of yer ol' pappy when he's old and feeble.
