Thanks, this was helpful! Was wondering about accessing higher channels 100+ using my Media Center PC without the digital cable box. If it can get the lower channels that are digital, why couldn't it get the higher ones (namely MSNBC which is still on the basic package but Comcast shoved it up from channel 47 to 12. But now I understand those lower channels are broadcast in analog as well (and thus why MCE can read it) but the higher ones are solely digital.

Sucks for me, but at least I can stop wondering about it. Thanks again 28 months later.
