Heh.. it is always funny how people can have such different takes on the same material. I really liked Heavenly Creatures and found most of the characters to be pretty likable (well, except for the mom/dad that kept leaving the daughter all alone through her life). For me it was more like a somewhat twisted love story instead of a horror, but I'm probably somewhat off my rocker myself..

Yeah, I kinda saw it as more of a twisted love story as well, but Kate Winslet's character was this Eddie Haskell-type and kinda insane to boot, and by the time they got around to making her seriously ill I just didn't care. Good, thought I, she's just bad news all around. The other girl, whose name eludes me, was less plain old insane but was deeply disturbed, for good reason most likely, I suppose, but that didn't make me care about her, just pity her.
It's not that I thought Heavenly was a bad film, far from it, but I just couldn't get caught up in it.
