You know I have never cared for marvel at all, I always made mine DC, but I might start picking some of these up for my son. it actually seems like a really good idea to me. I'm shocked they are finally starting to realize comics can be for kids.

Well, the thing is, they realize that the earlier they hook 'em, the more they'll sell (theoretically) when these kids get older. Right now, kids aren't buying comics in any significant number, preferring manga apparently, and that's a concern for the Big Two.

well it's hard for kids to to get into comics when they are not sold anywhere kids go. Taking them out of convenience stores and grocery stores cut off their future market, now the only way kids will get into comics is if they have someone in their family that pushes them on them.

I never thought I'd see the day people would be saying "comics aren't just for grown-ups you know".
One thing I'll always be grateful for is that I learned to read early in life, and I have comics to thank for that. If that can be revived, it can't but be a good thing.

It is also interesting how Marvel Age seems to be more of a label for any of their stuff printed in digest-size. I'm not sure how well Spider-Man or Spider-Girl will do, but I have some hope for Runaways and Sentinal doing well..

BTW, I also strongly agree about the re-make versus convoluted continuity. Personally, I think in most cases I'd prefer if a good series went on a while and came to a good end.
If it ends up being a classic and they want to update it every decade for new kids, I'd have no real issue with that. Or even do alternate world takes or sequels or whatever. I just have an issue where the same comic goes on and on and seemingly goes into very different areas and then reboot or have people back from the dead or whatever to do status quo.
Countless movies have remade Romeo and Juliet, sometimes updating dialog, sometimes not. Countless books have taken the basic plot and created their own story instead. What if Romeo and Juliet was a story that kept going on and on with different authors for the last several centuries instead?
