Another DC series I've never heard of! I'm not much for Loeb these days -- I liked his Batman Halloween stories when they were just one shots -- but I find your description intriguing and I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Er... buy the book, I mean. I hope they include the covers. Those bunnies are neat.
Hey, Howard Chaykin's doing Challengers of the Unknown soon, isn't he? I've never really read anything save a lone issue of the series by... uhm... somebody and John Paul Leon. Was it Steven Seagle? Another short-loved DC series I need to get ahold of...

It was about the time of Long Halloween and Dark Victory that I began to become a bit disappointed with his work. I really liked Superman For All Seasons and kinda liked Daredevil: Yellow...but thought Spider-Man: Blue was a snoozer and bailed on the Hulk mini two issues in. There's a ton of ongoing series work he's done as well, but nothing I've bothered to pick up on a regular basis.
The 90s CotU, by Steve Grant, John Paul Leon and Jill Thompson, among others, was another overlooked and interesting series. It was heavily X-Files influenced, but I liked that cast of characters.
And Chaykin's Challs is coming out any time now, no doubt one reason why we're getting this trade. It looks pretty good...

Oh, Grant. Steven Grant. Wrong Steven. I like 'em both.

I picked up that CHALLS mini-series either on eBay or a convention a couple of years ago. Now that's being collected with a new story, that seems like wasted money. I'm definitely buying the collection.

You just cna't foresee some things, Augie.
Well, I'm pretty sure Primal Force will never be collected...
