Steven and I were talking about this last night! I think the only time I've used "gritty" unironically and in a comics review was to describe the art in 300, because I couldn't think of a better way of saying there are little flecks of black ink all over the place.

I hereby call for for the replacement of the word "gritty" with the word "chunky."
For example: "Post-Dark Knight superhero comics adopted Frank Miller's grim-and-chunky world view."

Oh, man. If I ever open a Mexican restaurant, there's gonna be grim-and-chunky salsa on the tables.

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band is OK.
Grim 'n Grimy...eh.
Sorry about the lack of a hockey update! I've been meaning to do the weekly sports post, but just haven't gotten around to it yet. Say...you're not a Lightning fan rubbing it in, are you?

Nope, I was for the Flames(gotta agree with you on the uniforms being cooler). They were my favorite team before the Predators came along.
