Never was a fan of She's Leaving Home or Within You. And you're right about Rita sounding incomplete. On the other hand, Good Morning I thought was a hoot.
Thanks for this fine appreciation of an album that's worn uncommonly well. Pepper isn't my fav Beatles album, but that's a minor quibble for a record that had (and still has) such a deep influence on music, art and culture to this day. And my 11-year old niece loves it, so I hope those tunes will still be ringing forty years from now.

It was one of the Mercury Records Storyteller series. As far as where you can find it, I'd suggest eBay. Otherwise, flea markets, places like that. I doubt it's been issued on CD.
