Gravatar I'm fairly certain your memory of that splash page is correct, sir (if my long boxes weren't effectively buried in the back of a storage room at home, I believe I'd be able to increase my certainty factor significantly...)

Gravatar I used to own that one, waaay back in the day...but goodness only knows what happened to it.

Gravatar Don't try, do! (In my comments section, but you can publish here.)

Gravatar With the exception of Bob Rozakis' run in Batman Family, and a few other stories here and there, Barbara usually didn't come out looking all that well as a rule.

It's like DC didn't think much of the character because of her TV tie-in, and made her look as frivolous as possible.

Jerks

Gravatar Roger: I'll get them done soon! Thanks!

Gravatar Good god. It's a wonder the character survived all those indignities at all.

Gravatar "Batman, don't! Her life-- and YOURS -- won't be worth a plugged nickel if the underworld knows she has that information!"

• Interesting that Robin only stresses Batman's lfe as if Batgirl, meh.

• damn, I miss the days when you could say things like plugged nickel.

Gravatar I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be funny. You know sometimes comics are supposed to be funny, and not just so bad that they are funny.

Gravatar Sure they're supposed to be funny. The problem is the humor is based entirely on the conceit of "gosh, women are just so vain/self-centered/inconsequential" etc.

Gravatar I did question the cover choice myself. I'd think there were better covers to use.

But, the important thing to keep in mind is what's inside - a GREAT batch of Batgirl stories.

Gravatar As true as that may be, I just hate that many casual buyers may be moved to pass because of that cover...
