JB - Do you have Harrison's Beware of Abcko? This is an outstanding bootleg of an unreleased studio session with just George and his guitar from the All Things Must Pass sessions. It's my personal favorite CD of his. I don't know why it was never officially released, but you can get it online.

I've just been listening to Live In Japan and Brainwashed a lot... RIP George. It's really about time a new anthology of all his solo work came out, it's a big hole in the discography.

Marc: I've heard that title before, so I've probably read about that boot somewhere. Haven't heard it, though- rarely run across bootlegs here in the middle of nowhere, and even more rarely can I afford them. If they're just solo acoustic performances of ATMP songs, meh- the production sound of that album is a big reason why I like it so much. But if it's unheard by me/unreleased songs, then THAT's interesting! Either way, I'd love to hear it- always interested in hearing Fabs stuff I haven't heard before.
Nik- Would you believe that you just cited the two Harrison albums I don't own? Brainwashed is one of those "I keep meaning to get it" CDs, and while I've had numerous opportunities to get that Live one I haven't because generally live albums don't excite me much, and I haven't been especially impressed by what I've heard here and there on that one. I totally agree that some sort of anthology is WAY overdue, preferably spanning Beatles songs as well as solo, which might be problematic because of the legal mess which always accompanies anything issuing from Apple Corp.. But a two-discer would be wonderful, with some unreleased cuts like "Sat Singing" (for example) added to spice it up.
Of course, the cuts I'd pick (Dark Horse fan here, y'see) probably wouldn't pass muster, but I'm sure I'd like whatever they came up with, as long as it was assembled with care...

It's about half acoustic stuff from ATMP, and half new, unrecorded stuff. The album is so intimate, though, and it's great sound quality. Drop me an e-mail with your address and I'll send you a copy.
Also, I agree with Nik. Live in Japan is a great album, recorded at the peak of Harrison's solo career, and includes many of his best Beatles songs. Definitely worth getting.

Marc: Thanks, I might just take you up on that!
I'm not so sure that 1991 was the peak of his career, though...
