When I first looked at that art, I wuz flashing back to Barbara Gordon-era Batgirl and 'Daredevil's girlfriend'-era Black Widow kicking scenes.
But looking at it now after having been worked on by my physical therapist almost 12 hours ago, I'm finding I'm empathizing rather strongly with the kickees...
Yes, you really should buy #1. It's excellent -- at both a dead-on satire and a surprisingly compelling and affecting story in its own right.
One of the best impulse comic buys I've ever made.
It's a little pricey, though, so I've been trying to find it on eBay on the cheap.
I meant to preorder it from DCBS, but overlooked it...
